Gameloft says it, others reining in Android plans
This is systemic to the Linux mindset I fear. Those users expect applications to be free and open.
Additionally, the apps I used on Droid paled in comparison to the apps I use on my iPhone. Both in user interface design and usefulness. But many of those apps were free. I didn’t want to purchase any apps from the Android Market because what I was experiencing in the free-app market made me weary of actually buying an app. A lot of the free iPhone apps are well thought out with a polished user interface and that helps my psyche when it comes time to purchase. My expectation is that the free apps are nice but an app or game with a cost associated with it will be even nicer.
