Spammers, Evildoers, and Opportunists
“If you’re tricking people into visiting your site, those visits are going to be bad experiences.”
This is my biggest issue with the SEO industry. You do everyone an injustice by “gaming the system” to get your irrelevant links bubbled up to the top of a search that, for the most part, shouldn’t include your site. The unintentional goal of most SEO experts is to waste my time (me being the searcher). If your site has information that is worth a damn, it’ll bubble to the top based on it’s merits. This isn’t the phone book. You don’t have to name your business AAAA Plumbing so I’ll see you first. Have a good reputation as a good plumber with a web site that has good keywords and information and I’ll find you. Because search engines were designed to help me find you. Not because there’s a trick to it.
