Microsoft's "Pink" phones in danger of collapse?

When I read this, it reminds me of stories I used to read about the way Microsoft used to mock IBM for being too big for its own good. Success comes at a price. Promotions need to be given, new levels of middle management are created, and in the end the company struggles under the weight of a bureaucracy of it’s own design.

Obviously, this is just a rumor and may not be true. But there is no denying that Microsoft’s mobile platform is the weakest and least scalable of the new mobile platforms available today. They have misstepped in every way, in much the same way they did with the adoption of the internet. And maybe that’s why they still believe they can turn this ship around. They misstepped on the internet but quickly regained ground and eventually took over. Times have changed though. They can’t use their considerable market share to squash the competition with so many antitrust eyes on them. When they’re forced to compete in the market place on the merit of their own work, Windows Mobile may not be able to ever overcome this.
