This is Why You Lost Me, GOP
Here is the face of the new Republican. White, flushed, angry. His politics aren’t about being fiscally responsible and making sure the federal government stays small and states have the right to run their state how they see fit. No, this is the new Republican. This man wants me to live in fear and follow him regardless of thought. Propaganda and lies are the new platform of the GOP.
The Republicans have always had such a strong track record when it comes to morality and rules of society. An outburst like this by any member of congress during any presidential speech throughout history would have been admonished as both childish and irresponsible. But now Republicans are holding this motherfucker up in high regard for being rude and inappropriate. You don’t think some Democrats wanted to shout “you lie!” to President Bush during his tenure? I can almost guarantee they did. But they didn’t. Out of respect for the process, out of respect for the office of the President, and out of respect of the American People.
Joe Wilson doesn’t respect my country. He doesn’t respect the democratic process. And he deserves no respect.
