This is from Netflix this morning. Last night, I was watching a TV Show and it disconnected. Then I couldn’t get back on. I figured there was some technical issue since I was still online so I just shut off the Xbox. And this is the email I get today. Not from a service that I depend on in any way but a service that feels like a perk more than anything since what I’m paying for is the DVD delivery service. Watch-It-Now over the Xbox is just an added benefit.

When my Dish Network signal went down for 2 weeks I was pissed off. I pay them money in exchange for a satellite signal. My service was out for 2 weeks and I had to plead my case to their customer service department and they agreed to knock $15 off of my $80/month bill for that month. And that is why I cancelled that service. I haven’t had satellite or cable for almost 6 months now and I’ve been doing just fine.

If Comcast/Dish/DirectTV want to stem the flow of people abandoning their services in favor of other solutions, they should change their colors quickly. People want more for less. And people expect customer service. Bravo Netflix, bravo.
