A Twist on the Apple Tablet
I remember a rumor about an iMac that didn’t have any computer built in. The reports stated there was a large slot on the side of the computer where the CD/DVD drive is on current iMac models. Instead of the computer being built in, the computer was removable so you could take it with you. At the time, it was thought that a laptop would slide in and dock there so you could use the larger iMac screen and a desktop keyboard and mouse. That rumor surfaced about 4 years ago and never materialized into an official product. But this new mystery device makes me wonder if such a thing actually existed but the rumor-mill just got it wrong.
If you had an iMac on your desk and you could pop-out the computer and take it with you, wouldn’t that be an interesting twist? It would certainly make more sense than just a tablet computer on its own.
